Es el parque natural más grande de España, con relieves muy abruptos y alturas superiores a 2000 m. Sucesión de montes y de tajos, valles, calares y altiplanos. Aquí nacen los ríos Segura y Guadalquivir.
Observación de aves y de mamíferos, excursiones botánicas y arqueológicas. Se puede practicar el senderismo, el ciclismo (de montaña),la espeleología, el parapente, el ala delta y deportes náuticos.
